SAEA welcomed guest speakers, the founders of Beta Coders, to speak in their recent Spring membership conference. Beta Coders makes computer science education fun and accessible for kids, with hands-on projects instructed by highly experienced instructors.

Beta Coders founders proposed collaboration and joint programming with SAEA, to ensure the continued success and advancement for the future of Syrian Americans in engineering by creating pathways for SAEA members’ families to enter lucrative tech and STEM fields, fostering interest from a young age.

They proposed opening a new training center in locations such as Farmington Hills to train SAEA members’ children and other families in the community, including:

-monthly coding and robotics courses

-summer camps

-provide required hardware (laptops, micro:bits, robots)

-provide software and learning management system

We look forward to fostering this partnership with Beta Coders in the future.
