With the generous support of Global Water, an established force in bringing clean, safe water to developing countries (globalwater.org), SAEA has made substantial progress towards bringing water to a critical medical facility in rural northern Syria.
After an extensive search, project leaders in SAEA’s MediFac program have contracted a driller with suitable equipment and qualifications to complete soil study, initial vertical excavation and horizontal drilling for discovery of ground water aquifers. With the project well under way, SAEA hopes to hit water sources at this site as soon as possible.
Ultimately, the successful completion of this project will eliminate expensive shipments of water by water tankers and sustain daily operations of the hospital more effectively so they can continue valuable work in relief efforts on the ground.
