In conclusion of the recent Spring 2018 SAEA Membership conference, SAEA members engaged in a rich discussion and Q&A with the board of directors.
The president presented the current project workflow process including how projects are approved, the criteria for acceptance, the criteria for implementation as well as the difference in short and long term project types. This aids the members in understanding how to bring forth their ideas into project implementation. In this area, there was also discussion surrounding potential improvements in the current work process.
Members also discussed a key principle of SAEA: engaging Syrian engineers in the US and the benefits for networking, and professional development. Discussion surrounded ideas for more member engagement with SAEA organization and projects, how to connect with more people, and how to amplify networking opportunities.
The Board looks forward to implementing these suggestions in upcoming strategic planning processes throughout 2018 and 2019.
